"If its not a passion, don't do it!"
If its not something you're passionate about, why are you doing it? Why do you accept the belief that you have to do things you don't like in order to be a responsible adult?
If you're not passionate about that job, don't apply for it.
If youre not passionate about that person, don't marry her or him.
Passion: It denotes life, fire, spunk, inspiration.
Why buy a house that doesn't inspire you?
People cheat themselves by accepting mediocre, lukewarm lives. They set up imaginary limits for themselves, then try and live within those limits. As unhappy as they are with things, they choose a life of limits, low expectations, and are rarely ever disappointed.
If you're not having BIG, HUGE failures every now and then, you're not living right! There: I said it! And it needs to be said. The safe life is no life at all.
Life is such a rare and precious gift. You should have NO intentions on living it all scared and timidly; too afraid to be true to yourself because of what others may think.
What if you had no concerns about what others may think about you? How would you live then?
What would you do for an occupation?
I once thought I could never get paid for sitting up in Barnes and Nobles all day long, drinking lattes and reading interesting books. I always carried a notebook and pen with me, just incase any life changing thoughts or insights popped into my head. Now I know better. I get paid today for doing just that: sitting in bookstores all day long, reading interesting stuff, and writing down the thoughts I get while I'm doing it. The lattes are the icing on the cake. I only needed to be willing to share my thoughts with the world.
Its the things you love to do most that will bring you the greatest prosperity.
You'll make your most money by doing what you love to do best.
Do what you love to do best. Find a way to do so more commercially. This is where you'll find success.
But it takes great boldness to do this. Most don't have the heart or faith to pursue their truest passions.
But the rewards are tremendous for those that do; both their personal and financial rewards.
Living from and in your passions is being true to yourself. It's being true to God. There's really no other way to live happily.
Love is truly the greatest force there is. Live your Love.
PS: Theres a new book out named The Richest Man In Town: The Twelve Commandments Of Wealth, by W. Randall Jones. He's the guy that started Fortune magazine. In it has a chapter I think is gold: Find Your Perfect Pitch. This is exactly what I'm talking about in this blog post. Great book too.
